Indigenous Yupik Peoples of Alaska have an interesting saying in their language “ak’a tamaani anguyiit anipaunguatullruut” which translates to “long ago warriors used to pretend to be owls.” Because of an Owls unique qualities like strength, silence and stealth, their yua or spirit was regarded as very powerful.
