A sunny Zuni day has coaxed a baby Bobcat
known as a kitten, out of its winter den for some enjoyable rowdy play and exploration. Gilbert Bowannie's bobcat or wildcat is well-incised for fur and has a sweet eager expression conveyed through turquoise inlaid eyes, perked ears and a slightly turned head. Its facial fur is wonderfully fluffy. About 2 1/4" long, 1" tall and 1" wide, carved from a yummy travertine indigenous to the Zuni Pueblo area referred to as Zuni stone.
