Piñon Jaybird

By Gilbert Bowannie

Animal: Bird, Material: Sodalite
This offering is sold.
A sweetly small piñon jaybird (or perhaps a bluebird) takes a break from the flock to walk around and peck at fallen piñon nuts and other tasty morsels. Carved from a nice sodalite specimen, Gilbert Bowannie's portable corvid is bold in all it does and does a lot of talking along the way. Eyes are from jet in turquoise inlays. Plumage is etched. Measurements are about 1 3/8" tall, 7/8" wide and 1 1/4" long. Gilbert creates wonderful bird fetishes, don't miss this one.
