Ray Tsalate is renowned for his Frogs
and it is easy to see why. Here he has created a celebration of pond life with a jeweled frog pendant surrounded by turquoise water droplets and serpentine lily pads. Lime green pebble cut peridot beads create space between. This fabulous amphibian is carved from a cross section of antler creating a 'warty" texture, bejeweled with bright red-orange coral cabochons on one side. The reverse side is inlaid with a myriad of stones including turquoise, lapis, sugilite, gold lip shell, pink mussel shell, malachite, and coral cabochons. The 27 1/2" necklace finishes with aquamarine beads and a secure threaded clasp. The frog pendant is about 1 3/8" long and 1 1/8" wide with eyes of inlaid pen shell in gold lip shell.
