This offering is sold.

Before the 1900's New Mexico river valleys were rich with BEAVER. In their search for wealth trappers came to the Southwest. At that time the town of Taos, New Mexico became a hub in the beaver trade and our river valleys were striped of their beaver residents. Restoration began in the 1930's and continues today. Though beaver are on the rebound there is still a long way to go before we see these ecological engineers reach their historic numbers.

Eli Cheama has brought us this friendly neighbor beaver. Carved from rich Picasso marble that mimics the beaver's thick soft, eyes and nose of inlaid jet, and a nicely cross hatched tail this beneficial builder is about 3 3/8" long, 1 1/8" wide, and 1 1/8" tall. Go Beavers!
