Jaycee Nahohai's parents are renowned potters Randy Nahohai (d) and Rowena Him. He's the eldest of their four sons, growing up at Zuni totally submersed in traditional pottery making. In high school, he studied pottery with Zuni teacher Gabriel Paloma. Later he attended Arizona State University's New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences in Tempe. In 2005, he won a Heard Museum blue ribbon for his pottery. His ongoing pottery works are highly sought after and incredibly gorgeous.
Elegantly hand-formed and hand-painted, of natural clay and mineral slips, plus a touch of reflective and golden micaceous paint, is Jaycee's Frog pendant. It's suspended from a length of black cotton cord accompanied by several handmade clay beads. Amazing webbed feet are seen on the underside of this fabulous amphibian pendant, that itself is about 2 1/2" long without the beads, and is 1 1/2" wide.
