Nelson Yatsattie's wonderful Bear
is carved from a lovely dolomite. Natural tan variations seems to resemble footwear like moccasins that this approximately 2 5/8" long, 1" wide and 1 3/4" tall bear might be wearing. The word moccasin comes from the Indigenous Algonquian language Powhatan word makasin
. Eyes are from turquoise inlays and sgraffito etching is seen on the paws and nose of this sweet friend.
