Praying mantids are able to enchantedly swivel their heads because of a flexible joint between the head and prothorax. Forelegs are held in an upraised position as if in prayer, hence their name. These predatory insects devour a variety of pests and are an organic form of pest control. Creatively carved with a turned head, Kevin Chapman's gorgeous turquoise praying mantis has red coral inlaid eyes that carefully observe. We love the etched leaf elements on its body as it hides in the vegetation to hunt. About 2 1/2" long, 1" wide and 1 1/4" tall.
