The Spanish brought Horses
with them to New Mexico in the late 1500s. After the Pueblo Revolt in 1680 Spanish settlers were forced out of New Mexico. Large numbers of abandoned livestock found their way into Pueblo hands and were traded to the people of the Great Plains, revolutionizing their way of life. This loyal pony grazes peacefully in the sun. Carved from found stone by Peter Sohappy. About 2 1/2" tall and 3" long, this companion would make a wonderful gift for any horse lover.
