Jet is a type of lignite, a black organic rock that forms when pieces of woody material are buried in sediment and are coalified. It's mined in England, Spain, France's Aude region, Germany, and other parts of northern Europe, Asia, and North America. New Mexico's landscapes yield jet as well. Beloved throughout time, jet has the ability to be easily carved or cut into shapes with precision. It can be rubbed to a nice matte finish or polished to a bright luster. Herbert Halate creates amazing fetishes from jet like this approximately 2 1/2" long, 5/8" wide and 1 1/2" tall
Bear. It's irresistibly smooth. Eyes are from turquoise.
