The traditional tufa cast jewelry method was employed in the creation of a fabulous
Turtle ring by Joel Pajarito of Kewa Pueblo. His grandmother is renowned jeweler Mary C. Lovato and many of his family members including his father Anthony Lovato, are award-winning artists. After cutting a tufa stone in half, smoothing out both surface sides and carving a sprue hole on top, Joel etched the design then poured in molten sterling silver to form this magnificent ring that cradles a gorgeous jade cabochon. Raincloud and spiral motifs adorn the shank of this amazing ring that's a size 8. The lovely reptile station itself is approximately 1 1/2" long by 1 1/8" wide. Signed by the artist.
