Bernard Laiwakete comes from a great line of Zuni carvers: the Mahooty, Lasiloo and Laiwakete families. His son is carver Kenric Laiwakete.
Bushytail (Coyote, Fox, or Wolf) graces us with its presence, carved from balancing fluorite. This mineral is popular because of its natural, broad color spectrum with many types able to glow under ultraviolet light. They're fluorescent, hence its name. Said to be grounding, fluorite increases intuitive abilities.
Wide-awake turquoise inlaid eyes and a full fluffy tail are features of this canine that measures about 3 1/2" long, 3/8" wide and 1 3/8" tall. Bernard's deliberate use of this fluorite specimen enhanced his bushytail's muzzle area.
