As you travel across the high desert you might be lucky to catch a glimpse of horses free to roam the pueblo lands of San Felipe, Kewa and Cochiti making their living among the sage brush and juniper. A sighting always feels special, as if a good omen for the journey, even more so when a new colt is seen among the herd. Wilson Romero, who is from Cochiti Pueblo, carved this  Horse from a stone found on the Cochiti lands. This horse is about 5 1/4" long, 1" wide by 2 3/4" tall.
