Amazing Gila monsters are venomous, stout-bodied desert dwelling
Lizards named for the Gila River basin. They grow to around 20 inches and have unique colorful beadlike scales. Salvador Romero's Gila monster is a nice size at about 6 1/4" long, 1 3/4" wide and 1 1/2" tall carved from a found stone. These fascinating reptiles are protected in each of the Southwestern states where they live.
