By Sedrick Banteah

Animal: Rabbit, Material: Picasso Marble
This offering is sold.

The ancient Indigenous Mimbres culture created distinctive black on white pottery whose interiors were painted with incredible animal and human figures. The Rabbit was a common motif because it was also a traditional animal food. As a prey animal, they’re also food source for carnivores who in turn benefit ecosystems. Sedrick Banteah is a wonderful carver of rabbits. His latest offering is a Picasso marble cottontail with turquoise eyes. Fur is intricately etched and a cottontail is nicely worked. About 2" long, 3/4" wide and 1" tall.
