A pair of wonderful Frog fetish earrings are nicely carved from serpentine and inlaid with turquoise eyes and accent spots. Frog is a sign of water. Carved by Andrew Quam, these pleasing amphibian earrings dangle at about 1 1/2" long including hooks and are 7/8" wide. Signed by the artist.

Andrew Quam is from the greater Johnny Quam (d), Andrew Emerson Quam (d) and Bossie Quam (d) family of recognized Zuni artists. Andrew's mother was Rosalia Quam (d) who learned the art from her step-father George Cheechee Haloo (d). She was well-known for stringing bird fetishes and also for her wonderful horse, frog and owl carvings. Rosalia and her husband Andrew Emerson Quam taught their children, including Andrew, the honored art.
