Stewart Quandelacy + Fluorite + Medicine-bear. Those three factors will cause me to add to my collection every time! Stewart is known for his medicine bears, most with an inlaid heart line on one side. I remember being glad that Stew did not include a heart line on this bear as it would have interfered with the watery, transparent beauty of the fluorite stone with the mysterious inclusions within. Bear shaped like this are called medicine bears because they are the same shape as the entrance to their cave. Because bear hibernates in the same place every year, the Zunis honor this pattern of repetition and return, by saying that a medicine bear will help you on your journey as well a safe return home. This medicine bear has inlaid coral eyes and measures about 2 1/8" tall by 2 1/4" long.
