Beavers are vital water creatures who actually help contain forest fires. They modify streams to become larger bodies of water that in turn act as a fire line and even a water supply for firefighters. A beaver's presence in nature greatly affects other wildlife too. The removal of beavers from their natural setting results in a decrease of habitat quality for all. Then fewer wildlife species are able to benefit from the area. Brian Yunie's wonderful Beaver has been sculpted from Picasso marble. It is permanently presented on a marble base with crushed turquoise to represent water. Eyes are from turquoise, a set of incisors are at the ready and a cross-hatched tail is ready to slap the water. About 2 1/2" long, 1" wide and 1" tall.
