Rosella Shack's black marble
Turtle with turquoise eyes was treated with the sgraffito ornamentation to create a nice two-tone effect framing a tradition Zuni sunface. The sunface symbolized the balance between sky, earth, and water creating an environment where we can thrive. Turquoise inlays adorn the carapace and create fancy claws. This ornate reptile is about 3 1/2" long, 2 3/4" wide, and 3/8" tall.
