Iridescent Pacific green snail shell has been carved into a
Butterfly who emerges from perhaps a kiva represented by an etched access ladder. Kivas are sacred places underground where traditional activities take place in many Pueblos in New Mexico. Wings are from lovely pen shell inlaid with turquoise and shell. A heartline which serves as the breath path from the mouth area to the heart, is set with alternating sections of pen shell and turquoise. Large eyes are from turquoise. Measurements are approximately 2 3/4" tall, 1 5/8" wide and 1 1/4" deep, carved by Bryson Bobelu.
