Maxx Laate comes from the greater Laate family of carvers. Together with his brother Pernell Laate (d), they began carving in the mid-1980s. At that time they made their own tools but later used electric equipment, as many carvers do today.
Maxx's Eagle is an elegant one, perched at about 1 3/4" tall, 5/8" wide and 1/2" deep. We love how he worked the hooked beak while maintaining the integrity of the antler specimen. Jet eyes are piercing, seeing far and wide.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this eagle fetish will go to the Zuni Eagle Sanctuary. Please see our resources page for more information on the sanctuary.
