Devonian Coral Turtle

By Rosella Lunasee & Loubert Soseeah

Animal: Turtle, Material: Petoskey Stone
This offering is sold.

Carved from fossilized coral that was laid down during the Devonian period 420 to 360 million years ago around Petoskey, Michigan this Turtle shows a determination that time can not diminish. Petoskey stone looks like common limestone but under the lapidarian skills of Rosella Lunasee and Loubert Soseeah a beautiful rosette pattern emerges. About 1 7/8" long and 1/2" tall this aquatic reptile has blue eyes of inlaid turquoise.
