This mottled grey and black marble springs to life in the talented hands of Nelson Yatsattie, who transformed it into a sleek bushytail (Dog,
Fox,
Wolf or
Coyote). The colors of the marble are the perfect undercoat layered under fine and delicate incised lines for a furry texture. In hand the polishing is smooth, softening the incising without taking away from the visual texture. The bushytail surveys its surrounding with turquoise inlaid eyes which are bright and mischievous against the grey background. The carving measures about 4 1/4" long, 1" wide by 1 5/8" tall.
