Bryston Bowannie's Eagle (or Hawk) pendant is creatively carved from a speckled cowry shell with turquoise inlaid eyes. The shell's stunning curvature serves as the raptor's enveloping wings and talons. Bryston comes from the greater Natewa, the late Dallas Quam and Panteah family of Zuni Pueblo artists. His brother is carver Calvert Bowannie. They belong to the Crane Clan on their mother's side and the Dogwood clan on their father's side. About 2 3/8" long including bale, 2" wide and 1" deep. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this eagle fetish will go to the Zuni Eagle Sanctuary.
