Bright Eyed Watcher

By Mike Tucson

Animal: Eagle, Material: Jet
This offering is sold.

Eagle is a great hunter, and is honored among Indigenous cultures as a symbol of power, but hunting prowess comes with the practice of patiences as well as fearlessness.

Carved by Mike Tucson, this sharp turquoise-eyed eagle’s body and perch are carved from a jet, with an antler head, and mother of pearl tail feathers. This eagle surveys the land below, and you can practically see the wind ruffling each carefully incised feather. The detail in Mike’s pieces is stunning to behold, and this is no exception, from the jagged marks in the base that mimic a true cliff to the tiny hooked beak and serious expression on the eagle’s face. 2 5/8" tall, 1" wide, and 1 1/4" deep.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this eagle fetish will go to the Zuni Eagle Sanctuary.
