Chocolate Hippo

By Bryston Bowannie

Animal: Hippopotamus, Material: Travertine
This offering is sold.

Hippopotamus are semi-aquatic mammals with a reputation of protective aggression. The name hippopotamus comes from a Greek word meaning "river horse". They are sedentary, spending a lot of time in the water. An opened-mouthed, or yawning hippo displaying its massive teeth can be a territorial warning.

Bryston Bowannie's wonderful turquoise-eyed hippo raises its foot and opens its mouth, showing its huge teeth. The organic rich brown coloration of this travertine is like chocolate. About 2" long, 3/4" wide and 2 1/4" tall.
