Cerrillos turquoise is mined from the Cerrillos hills about 20 miles southwest of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Archeologists believe most of the turquoise found at Chaco Canyon, 180 miles northwest of Santa Fe, came from the Cerrillos hills. We're admiring the specimen Isaiah Calabaza used in his jet pendant. The Cerrillos turquoise specimen resembles an old map. Including the silver bale fixture, dimensions are roughly 2 1/2" long, 1" wide and 1/2" deep. Signed by the artist. The nice silver snake chain is not included but is available and sold separately here
