This beautifully creamy Bison
has been smoothly carved out of found Cochiti Pueblo stone by Salvador Romero. Bison once roamed freely and thrived across much of North America but today they are considered "ecologically extinct" as a wild species, because their original territories are gone. They are due for a comeback though and live in small wildlife areas, private ranches and some national parks. This great carving is about 5" long, 1 1/2" wide 3" tall.
