Maxx Laate brings a surprising carving of a serval which is commonly found in South Africa and known for its ability to jump great heights. The name “serval” is believed to come from the Portuguese word lobo-cerval, meaning “lynx.” Maxx's serval has an expressive face with eyes of inlaid turquoise and a long, lean body which is meticulously incised for fur detail. The cat rests on an arrowhead and measures about 3 1/4" long and 3 1/2" tall.
