Of all the arachnids, spiders form the largest group, with more than 3,000 species in North America alone. All spiders are predators. Most spiders have 4 pairs of eyes arranged in various designs on the front of their head. The hunting spiders eyes are arranged in such a way to enable them to see in all directions at once.

This absolutely gorgeous Spider by Michael Coble is carved of rich Picasso marble, and is about 3 3/4" long, 2 3/4" wide and 2" tall, with eyes of inlaid turquoise. We love its incised and furry abdomen and tarsal claws.
