For the A:Shiwi (The People) Mountain-lion is the protector of the North, its color is yellow and it is considered the elder brother of all the other protective animals in the Six-Directions. Daryl Shack, Sr.'s cultured opal-eyed Mountain lion (puma, cougar or panther) walks on a rocky ridge-line heading home after a night of hunting. Carved in the old-style from calcite, dimensions are about 5 1/4" long, 1" wide and 1 7/8" tall. A natural inclusion resembles a heartline or breath path that starts at the mouth leading to the heart region.
