Wolves are apex predators who take the lead during a hunt in turn keeping predator and prey in balance. The leftovers provide food for other wildlife even birds. A hierarchical order exists within the pack. Each canine knows its place yet retains an individuality. With great spiritual significance, a wolf is one of the animals within a Six-Direction grouping, associated with strong hunting powers by the A:Shiwi (The People). Heartfelt eyes are from turquoise inlays, while some ear, nose and tail tip features are from overlaid jet. Paws are from either jet or iridescent pink mussel shell.
