Shiva Lingam stone is a sacred and beautiful rock found only on the banks of the Narmada River in India, one of seven holy sites. Its good energy is said to be revitalizing and calming, among other attributes.

Zuni Pueblo artist Kateri Quandelacy Sanchez carved this serene Corn Maiden from one of these beautiful and incredible stones. She etched areas of Corn kernels and overlaid a soothing face of gold lip mother of pearl, etching the features and darkening them with jet paste. Flitting dragonfly companions and star designs adorn her smooth shawl. Kateri made fascinating use of this stone's colorations in forming this corn maiden that's an impressive 7" tall and 3 5/8" in diameter.
