Turtle with happy eyes from jet inlays stops to rest on a beach after a very long journey home. For many Indigenous coastal communities, sea turtles hold profound instinct and ancient wisdom. On a lovely etched carapace, an offering bundle contains many good things like a watery abalone segment, a star-incised matrix-rich turquoise bead plus pink mussel shell, heishe and peridot beads. About 2" long, 1 5/8" wide and 3/4" tall carved from serpentine by Kateri Quandelacy Sanchez.
