A miniature marble jar is filled with crushed turquoise and coral that an Olla Corn-Maiden and Grandmother balance on their head. Carved from turquoise, the measurements in their entirety are approximately 2 3/8" tall, 7/8" wide and 5/8" deep, by Sandra Quandelacy. Facial feature are etched and filled with jet paste. Traditionally ollas or pottery jars would be used to transport all kinds of things including corn meal or water.
