Prestigious Parrot

In the Zuni way, many birds are believed to carry prayers to the sky and clouds, asking for blessings and rainfall. Exotic parrots (or macaws) have been part of North American Native cultures due to the advanced and extensive trade system that existed way before Europeans arrived on the continent. Terry Wilson's parrot is an elegant example of these special feathered friends, carved from hickoryite and inlaid with turquoise eyes. Exquisitely worked plumage including beautiful tail feathers adorn this approximate 2 5/8" long, 7/8" wide and 1 1/2" tall awesome beaked bird.
