Pollinating Wasp

By Brandon Phillips

This offering is sold.

When visiting flowers for nectar, wasps transfer pollen to other flowers. We can also thank very small wasps from the Agaonidae family because they pollinate delicious fig trees. Wasps are also a garden's best friend because they eat aphids and flies, among other pesty morsels. Brandon Phillips' turquoise-eyed wasp has lovely wings from iridescent pink mussel shell inlaid to a watermelon serpentine body. A little stinger is from pink mussel shell as well. About 2 1/2" long, roughly 1 1/2" wide and 1 1/4" tall.
