In New Mexico, Petroglyph National Monument in Albuquerque is one of the largest petroglyph sites in North America. Petroglyphs are ancient etchings created by prehistoric Indigenous Peoples and are found throughout the state's varied landscapes. They are also abundant in the Southwest occupying rock faces with many sacred symbols. Ulysses Mahkee's fabulous Picasso marble ram or Bighorn sheep has great etched horns and turquoise inlaid eyes. Either side of this ruminant is sgraffito-etched with cool petroglyph-inspired motifs like Turtles, Deer or antelope, Lizard, flute-players like Kokopelli, paw prints, a roadrunner, a spiral hand motif, a radiating sun and raindrop elements. About 3" long, 3/4" wide and roughly 2 3/8" tall.
