Hooting is communication between owls usually taking place early in the morning or late in the evening. Their important talk ramps up in the autumn season to re-establish territories, prepare for mating season and to hunt for food as colder temperatures set in. Michael Coble's perched Owl is carved from fish rock serpentine. Attentive eyes are from lovely turquoise inlays. Plumage and perch details are achieved through intricate etching. The delightful piece has a slight lacquered or resin finish. Approximately 2 3/4" tall, 1 1/2" wide and 1 3/4" deep.
