Orthoceras Corn Maiden With Mosaic

By Chad Quandelacy

This offering is sold.
Corn Maiden has been carved by Chad Quandelacy from a wonderful orthoceras marble where the lovely fossil itself represents a corn body. A shawl is etched with stars and she's on a base from shell with crushed turquoise to represent water. Her face is overlaid mother-of-pearl shell with features etched and filled with jet paste. The reverse side is a great mosaic of colorful spiny oyster shell, turquoise, lapis lazuli, shell, coral, serpentine, abalone and jet, resembling a mushroom forest. About 2" tall, 1 3/8" wide and 3/4" deep, measurements include base.
