This is one fabulous fish carved of Nutria travertine, a gorgeous material indigenous to Zuni Pueblo area. At about 4 1/4" long, 1 1/3" tall and 1" wide, Fred Bowannie created this fish with wonderful movement and spirit. We love the individual scale and fin details. Its eyes are of inlaid pen shell and mother-of-pearl.
