The Nez Perce
Horse is a cross between the ancient Central Asian breed Akhal-Teke and the Appaloosa. This breed of spotted horses belonged to the Nez Perce tribe of Idaho. The Great Plains People were fearless warriors able to move faster and hunt more efficiently because of the mobility equines provided. They continue to be an important part of Native identity and culture. Herbert Halate's wonderful jet equine is inlaid with turquoise eyes and spots. About 3" long, 3/4" wide and 1 3/4" tall.
