Mountain Lion carvings are traditionally used when hunting large game such as
Deer or
Elk because mountain lion is the best hunter. They are also carried as a protector when traveling. Burt Awelagte carved this powerful feline from zebra stone and inlaid watchful eyes from turquoise. A long stylized tail and an offering bundle from turquoise, moonstone and heishe beads is secured to this roughly 4 1/4" long, 1" wide and 1 3/4" tall wonderful cat.
