Troy Sice is a prize-winning Zuni artist expressing traditional ways through extraordinary carvings. He recently brought by a gorgeous Maiden Grandmother masterfully made from burnished antler, in a slightly leaning stance. Eyes from jet and a red coral mouth are reassuring. A stunning double-layer necklace is inlaid with red coral and serpentine. Whorled hair and the wearing of a shawl indicates she's not had a baby but has mothered many. You can almost feel the soft folds of the warm shawl that's decorated with coral, jet, turquoise and crushed pipestone inlays. About 1 3/8" tall, 3/4" wide and 3/4" deep.
