Oh my goodness a sweet blue jay has landed in our yard, carved from colorful sodalite by Eddington Hannaweeke. We love its softly etched wings, crest and expressive eyes from jet in iridescent mother-of-pearl inlays. The blue jay's crest movement is a way to express themselves, other than their talk. Raising the head crest might mean they are excited or surprised, while a flattened one could indicate a calm spirit. Dimensions of this fabulous feathered friend are approximately 1 3/4" tall, 1 3/8" wide and 1 3/8" deep.
