Bernie Laselute's fantastical jackalope with turquoise eyes has horns of an antelope and a body of a jackrabbit. Enchanting many with legendary stories and sightings, the jackalope is a mythical animal of North American folklore. The word jackalope is a portmanteau of jackrabbit and antelope. A common southwestern U.S. species of jackrabbit is called the antelope jackrabbit, because of its ability to run quickly like an antelope. About 1 3/4" long, 7/8" wide and 1" tall, carved from Picasso marble.
