Wonderful Hawks need large areas of land and forest to hunt and nest. We can help protect their habitats by preserving and restoring them. Also, we can volunteer with organizations who work with legislators to create and enforce laws to prevent poaching and the illegal wildlife trade. Douglas Martza's stately raptor has been carved from picture jasper and inlaid with watchful eyes from turquoise. A gift of gratitude or an offering necklace contains pretty turquoise, coral and perhaps lapis lazuli beads. Because hawks are efficient and intelligent predators, their animal medicine is used when hunting ground animals, such as rabbits and squirrels. About 2 1/2" tall, 7/8" wide and 2" long.
