This offering is sold.

Having retired from the Forest Service in 2019, Zuni carver Andrew Quam spent 32 years working for the Federal Government. But at a young age he learned the art of carving from his parents Andrew Emerson Quam and Rosalia Reycita Quam, both fetish necklace carvers. Rosalia was taught by her step-father the late George Cheechee Haloo. Andrew's first job was when he was 8 years old, poking wax out from the holes of stringing animals. Around the age of 11, his first carving was a stringing bear. These days Andrew carves full-time delighting us with creatures like a gentle standing Bear (or polar bear) from marble. Adorable facial features are from turquoise and jet, while mighty clawed paws are from jet paste. About 2 5/8" tall, 1" wide and 7/8" deep.
