Jet is an incredible natural fossilized coal derived from wood that changed under extreme pressure in times long past. It's not considered a mineral but a mineraloid. Examples of mineraloids include coal, glass and obsidian, which are materials that don't meet all the criteria of what are considered true minerals with crystal structures. Eddington Hannaweeke's smiling Frog has been sculpted from jet and inlaid with eyes from turquoise. An offering bundle is laced with white clam heishe, branch coral and turquoise beads. About 1 5/8" long, 1 1/4" wide and 1" tall.
