Orthoceras were jet-propelled hunters dining on trilobites and tiny plankton among other eats. Their gorgeous fossils have been discovered in sites containing thousands of specimens leading some to believe they were involved in mass spawning events. Kenric Laiwakete enjoys carving these stunning fossils into wonderful animals like
Mountain-lions (cougar, pumas or panthers). One side displays a gorgeous orthoceras fossil while the reverse has an inlaid alternating heartline or breath path from turquoise. Eyes from turquoise inlays are always alert and incised whiskers are sensing. Dimensions are approximately 4 5/8" long, 1/2" wide and 1 1/8" tall.
